This summer I played a cricket match at the foot of those mountains in Sannox - great fun and great views. I think Lochranza is my favourite bit of Arran and echo FifePSY's recommendations above, some of them if I remember correctly are close to Blackwaterfoot which is good for sea view drinks at Kinloch Hotel which also has a bakery round the back. First time on Arran, we will be back - fantastic place, so much more to explore.
